Viszontlátásra, Budapest. Ahoj, Bratislava (6/12)

We left the Hungarian capital this morning by train.  This is our first train trip outside the US, but it went pretty smooth.  Naturally, I was worried about getting it right since we bought the ticket on Monday but everything went well.  I have to start living in the moment, I've been told.

I also wanted to mention that we saw up close what made the recent news regarding the river boat crash on the Danube.  The authorities pulled up the boat and recovered more bodies while we were in  town.  When we crossed the bridge on the way out,  I noticed the South Korean flag on the bridge railing along with candles and flowers.  There were also black flags on the lampposts.  Sad for everyone involved.

Train route

The train left Budapest at 9:40 am and arrived in Bratislava at 12:20 pm--just a little late.  The Bratislava station is better laid out than Budapest's I thought.  Buying a ticket to Vienna should be easy.

Hotel Room, Bratislava

Privilege Lounge with free pastries, coffee, juice, and mini sandwiches.  I'm glad I joined the Accor Hotel club when I booked the rooms for Budapest and Bratislava!

Walked around a bit after we checked in and knocked one thing off my list, the Radio Slovakia building.

Weird list, huh?

Later that evening, we walked to the Old Town to see more sights.
