When I first heard that both Hitler and Freud had been to Cafe Central for coffee, I knew I had to drink a cup there too. First thing I saw was the pastries of course, but we both ordered a breakfast there--along with the coffee. Good thing we went early--it filled up fast.

Inside the cafe
Portraits of Franz Josef I and Empress Elisabeth. The cafe opened during their reign, in 1876.

The University of Vienna was our next stop. Souvenirs, more souvenirs. Our luggage is getting pretty full. It's not always easy to find the bookstore on campus, but we did it.

Time to get the train tickets for Prague. These cost about $150 for both of us--the most expensive ones so far. We took the tram to the station and then after getting the tickets from a machine (another first this trip), we were off to our next stop.
I had seen videos about the Naschmarkt and it had made our list. I'm glad we went. It had a lot of interesting stalls selling food, clothes, and souvenirs. We obviously couldn't bring fresh food back, so I felt the best part was the restaurants (surprise!). Fe and I shared a plate of wienerschnitzel.

By now it was late afternoon, so we unloaded all our stuff at the hotel. That evening we went back to Stephansplatz for some (hopefully) good night pics.

This was a later night, so we'll probably catch some sleep on the three-hour train ride tomorrow. While this hotel wasn't perfect, I will miss the great location. It had a nice "neighborhood" feel.
