The Central Market was our first stop. The place is huge with produce and meat on the main floor, restaurants and souvenir shops on the second (for tourists), and a basement that has seafood and even an Aldi.

One of the stalls. This area sold paprika, honey, and jelly.
Next door to the market was Corvinus University We always get unique souvenirs from local universities and there are often surprises inside the buildings.

After a little break inside the (air conditioned) cafeteria, we went back outside to walk along the river--and to get these pictures:
Fe blocking and the Liberty Bridge. The Hotel Gellert is to the left.
Buda Castle
It was nearly 90 F again today, so we went back to out hotel for a bit. We had seen almost everything that was on our list (and then some), but I had read about the Budapest Synagogue and wanted to see that.
Front of the synagogue
Plaque honoring Theodore Herzl, who was born on this site.
We ended the day at a gelato stand near the hotel (it was our second time here, actually). We also had to prepare the luggage for our train to Bratislava tomorrow. We bought the tickets (just $10 each!) on Tuesday so we wouldn't be rushing around the station right before we are supposed to leave.
