Revisiting Old Town this morning because there were a few things we missed when we walked here the first night. We took the tram this time (of course). While doing some investigating for the trip, I read about two that I wanted to see. One was the Napoleonic soldier, but we were told that had been removed for repairs and had been gone for six months (turns out it was vandalized). So I made do with Man at Work.
Reminds me of my inspector days.
It was nice to just walk around Old Town Bratislava and just look around and we started out early before the heat got too bad and the crowds too thick.

Statue through the archway
Ornate Building
Cathedral and sign. Lots of hrady around here.
I knew the climb up to Bratislava Castle would be steep in places, which is why I wanted to start a bit early, but it didn't open until 10 am. It was in the 80s at 9:30. Fe was a trooper, but it seemed close at times. I am thinking we will be fall or spring vacationers from now on.
I am really no judge of Central European castles, but I liked Devin Castle more than Bratislava Castle, even though Devin was a ruin. Maybe because Bratislava Castle was so neat and orderly it made Devin Castle seem more real. More dramatic.
After the castle tour, we went back to the train station to get our train tickets to Vienna--just over $25 for both--and to eat lunch. We both had halusky at Pizza Pressburg in the station.

Halusky (with bacon)
The rest of the day was spent cooling off and packing for the trip to Vienna tomorrow. We also visited that lounge again. Ha ha.
